Communication is Key

It has come to our attention that a large number of emails are being returned, inhibiting our ability to communicate with you, the members.  If you have not received an email message in the past two weeks, please do the following:

If you have used your USPS email, the system will reject the Union's email. Please use your private email. Rest assured we do not share your email with anyone, especially marketers.

If you have used a private email, make sure that our emails are not being placed in your spam folder. Mark the emails as not spam, or place in the white list.

Check the email in your profile, and make sure it is entered correctly.

Timely communication is integral to our mission, to keep you, the member informed. Please help us help you.

MEMBERS ALERT -     MEMBERS ALERT

Dear Sisters & Brothers,

Posta l Management has officially notified the APWU of their intentions to excess at least 188 employees from 88 different post offices represented by our Local. To see the complete list of offices and the number of employees affected visit our Local Web-Site (see enclosed  information).  For the complete list, go to the Members Page (requires registration and log in).

Nationally the Postal Service has announced 1500 Excessing Events affecting over 15,000 employees.

Let there be no doubt that this notification is a "Slap In Our Face". The APWU and Mailhandlers Unions have sent a letter to Postmaster General Brennan, vehemently opposing this action (go to APWU.org to see letter).

These actions by the Postal Service are  both  threatening  and  intimidating. We must stand up against such policies. We are requesting that every Member remain alert and keep in touch with the  Local.  If management continues on this  path local  actions  will  be planned  and we need  all Members  to show  up when called  upon.  ALL MEMBERS!!!!

The Postal Service states that they care about its employees and calls us their biggest asset. Judging by these actions one must think that their loyalties are elsewhere.

The summer months are here. Members enjoy your hard earned vacations:
